Piano History

Bartolomeo Cristofori was the first person the build a piano. Though no one knows for sure, it was said that he invented it in the 1700s.

The first known invention that was close to a piano was called a harpsichord. It was created in the early 1300s.

Ludwig van Beethoven was a famous composer and pianist. He was taught piano by his father. Beethoven started to become deaf in his late 20s, and in the last decade of his life was completely deaf.

Johann Sebastian Bach was also another famous German composer and musician. Throughout the 18th century Bach was primarily valued as a organist, although he had composed several famous piano sheets.
